Orion is expanding its commercial real estate division with the addition of experienced market leader Frank Stallworth as Executive Vice President of Commercial Real Estate. Stallworth has more than 25 years of experience in commercial and multi-family real estate lending in the Mid-South, most recently with Pinnacle Financial Partners. He began his career as a banker and has since led the commercial real estate divisions of several successful financial institutions.

“Credit unions have really come on in the last five years throughout the country,” Stallworth said. “Orion has a significant balance sheet to be a player in this market. I’ve really become fascinated with the business model and mission.”

In addition to providing high quality, principled consumer products for members, Orion has expanded its commercial footprint in recent years to include high profile projects like the Hickman Building (known today as The Commonwealth) in downtown Memphis, the home of SouthernSun Asset Management, the ARRIVE Hotel on South Main, and renovating the former Wonder Bread factory in Memphis’ Edge District for Orion’s new headquarters.

Stallworth also cites Orion’s commitment to the local community and its culture focused on serving its members as compelling reasons to join the credit union in this role.

“We know expanding our commercial division will support economic development in our region,” said Daniel Weickenand, Orion CEO. “Frank Stallworth is a leader in the marketplace and a great addition to the Orion team.”

Stallworth is a longtime Memphian and a graduate of the University of Tennessee.
